Styling With The Soap Witch - Maximum Hydration Method + Wash N Go

Hey Ya’ll. So I decided to try the Maximum Hydration Method after watching many YouTubers accomplish it with beautiful results. I mean their results were straight up juicy, moisture as far as the eye could see. With my high porosity, dry hair issues you know I couldn’t let this one pass me by.

I actually started my process with a pre shampoo with Acute Anointing Hair Oil, followed by washing it out with my Charming Charcoal Shampoo Bar.

The actual method though starts with the Cherry Lola Treatment (I don’t know who she is or what she does but this treatment has a lot of ingredients I just don’t have so I skipped this step as did all of the YouTubers that I watched). Here is the recipe if you want to try it though:

2 cups Greek yogurt
2 tbsp baking soda
2 tbsp organic apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp raw coconut amino acids or regular amino acids
1/2 tbsp raw honey
1 tbsp Unsulfured molasses
1/2 an overripe plantain or banana
3/4 tbsp avocado
1 egg (optional)

When your mixture is ready, you'll apply to dry, detangled hair, saturating it from root to tip. Once each strand is evenly coated, put your hair up into a shower cap. You'll leave this on for between an hour and a half to two hours (depending on your exact hair type) and then rinse thoroughly with warm water.

The Next Step is to Clarify

In a plastic bottle with an applicator tip (preferably with measurements) fill half the bottle with ACV and the other half with water (1:1 ratio). Shake to combine the ingredients. Douse your head and scalp with the mixture, massage it in with your hands. I ended up using half of the bottle (your mileage may vary). Then I THOROUGHLY rinsed it out cause whew the smell.

Up Next is a Co-Wash or Deep Conditioning

I opted to do the deep conditioning with my Twilight Tempest Deep Conditioning Hair Mask. I apply it liberally to my hair (high porosity remember) and leave it in for 15 – 20 minutes max, then rinse.

On to the Next Step which is a Bentonite Clay Mask.

Friends let me tell you I had never in my life but I wish I had. Ok so to make my clay mask I add clay and ACV until it’s the consistency of something resembling yogurt. I also added EVOO and Castor Oil. I applied it liberally to my hair, like saturated it. Let me tell you my curls were popping. I mean I don’t need to tell you, see for yourself. Anyway there’s all this controversy over how long to leave it in, let it dry or not to let it dry. I left it in for 5 minutes and thoroughly rinsed it out.

FINALLY, cause this seems like it took eleventy million years, it was time to style my hair. I did a wash n go with my Curly Concoction Styling Cream and Miraculous Mixture Aloe Vera Gel.
